Day 1 - Arrival in Moshi
Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), where you will meet with our Shiri Adventures representative, and transfer to the hotel under the rate. The hotel will provide all the essentials for a comfortable stay: cozy rooms, hot water, polite staff, a swimming pool, and Internet access. In the evening there will be a briefing with your Kilimanjaro guides, who will also make sure you are ready to begin the climb..
➔ Main Destination: Moshi (City)
➔ Accommodation: Panama Garden Resort
➔ Meals & Drinks: Meals at your own expense. Drinks not included. -
Day 2 - Trekking From Machame Gate To Machame Camp
The guides and a mountain support crew will arrive at the hotel in the morning in order to meet you and hold a quick briefing, after which you will travel by vehicle to Kilimanjaro National Park's entrance: Machame Gate (1,800 m). After the quick formality of acquiring climbing permits and registering with the search and rescue service, the group will start trekking up to Machame Camp (3,010 m). The trekking route includes passage through the rainforest (where tropical showers are highly probable), so we recommend you take not only spare clothes, but also your raincoats.
-
Day 3 - Trekking From Machame Camp To Shira Camp
After breakfast you will start trekking up to the second high-altitude camp, Shira Camp (3,845 m). On this day you will emerge from the rainforest and for the first time be able to see stunning views of the Shira Plateau laid out in front of you. Physically speaking, the trekking is not very difficult, but you may feel the changes in altitude, so pay attention to your body and remember that choosing the proper pace is extremely important for good trekking. When you reach the camp, you will have lunch and some rest, after which the group will go on an acclimatization hike towards Lava Tower Camp with a 300-meter gain in altitude. Back down at Shira Camp you will be served a hot dinner.
-
Day 4 - Trekking From Shira Camp To The Lava Tower and Descent To Barranco Camp
After breakfast you will leave Shira Camp (3,845 m) and start your way to the key point of the route: Lava Tower (4,630 m). This section of the route has a lot of ascents and descents that end in a camp at over 4,600 meters. It might be difficult, and you may feel some discomfort, but in order to successfully acclimate to the altitude you have to spend at least 1–2 hours here, so this is where lunch will be taken. Then you will descend to Barranco Camp (3,960 m). Here you can see the famous Barranco Wall, impressive in both its massive size and steepness! Next day you will be climbing it, but don't worry: it features a very simple hiking trail.
-
Day 5 - Trekking From Barranco Camp To Barafu Camp
Early wakeup, breakfast and the start of summiting Barranco Wall (we recommend you leave the camp as early as possible to avoid crowds of the other groups). Hiking up the gorge wall is not difficult and only takes around an hour. After the climb you can have a rest and take photos in front of the Kibo volcano. Then you start a more difficult hike to Karanga Camp, which features numerous ascents and descents during the route, but don't worry: our guides are experts at choosing an optimal pace for the group. After reaching the camp you will be offered warm lunch. After a couple of hours, you will have to complete ascend to Barafu Camp (4,640 m) where you will be served a hot dinner. It is better to spend the remainder of the day resting and sleeping before night summiting.
-
Day 6 - Ascent to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Millennium Camp
Departure from Barafu Camp (4,640 m) at night and the start of summiting Kilimanjaro: Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). Technically the climb is relatively simple; however, the most challenging part is the high altitude. Each pair of climbers will get a personal guide for the entire ascent to monitor your physical and mental conditions. After your successful ascent to Uhuru Peak, you can descend to the nearest glacier if desired. Then you will return to Barafu Camp and after a 2-hour rest continue your descent to Millennium Camp (3,820 m).
-
Day 7 - Descent from Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate
The camp is situated in a tropical rainforest. When you wake up, you will feel relief from the reduction of the height and the satisfaction of reaching the summit. After a warm breakfast, you will head for the park's exit: Mweka Gate (1,640 m). After your descent the whole group will gather to congratulate you, followed by offering you a chance to share your opinions on the climb in the guestbook. Lastly, we will present you with your commemorative certificates in our office and provide you a transfer back to the hotel.

Full disclosure, I did get mine severely discounted as we worked together on content creation/promotion, but I can honestly say I would have absolutely paid full price to do it.Our guide Laurent was amazing. Linus, the Managing Director, is a godsend and helped us with some issues that popped up right before we left as well as answering every little question we had along the way. This trip was the time of our lives (me and my husband went for our honeymoon). I couldn't recommend it enough, and I found Shiri to be very reasonable in cost compared to many other safaris at this level. And we saw the big 5! I'm telling you, our guide had supervision. 10/10 would recommend Shiri Adventures.Verifiedmampangile2023-01-09Fantastic Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari was absolutely amazing. We got to see so many animals and different national parks over our 7 day safari. And with the help of our guide we were able to spot and see the all of the big 5 animals (lions, elephants, leopards, water buffalo & rhinos)! We got a discounted experience via my wife, but I would pay full price any day. It was amazing!Verifiedlindsmariea2022-11-07BEST Guide Company In Tanzania Linus and his crew were all over the tiny details that made each excursion we want on amazing. Did the 3-day safari, Materuni Falls & coffee tour, and visited the Chemka hot springs. Everything was well planned out and communication from Linus was impeccable. Highly recommend this company and will use them again if I ever find myself back in Eastern Africa!VerifiedMariam N2022-10-21My Kilimanjaro hike I had a wonderful experience with the team at Shiri, Linus provided such a wonderful team that played a very huge role in helping us summit Uhuru peak. The team was organised and professional and made the 6 day hike a very memorable one for me and for the friends I made on the hike.Verifiedfaheymk2022-10-196 day Marangu Route Kilimanjaro Absolutely wonderful from start to finish! My friends and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu route with Shiri Adventures, and Linus and his staff delivered an amazing experience. There were 4 of us in our group and we all had limited hiking experience, but we all made it to the summit with the help of our amazing guides Yaki and Bryson, along with the porters. After we finished, they had beers, champagne and a bus waiting for us at the gate. I have traveled quit a bit and I can say I’ve never had a better experience anywhere. If I ever go back to Tanzania I will hire Linus and Shiri Adventures to handle it. I wish I could do more than write a review. I highly highly highly recommend using Linus and Shiri Adventures for your Kilimanjaro trek or safari. Thanks again to Linus, Yaki, Bryson and everyone else, you made our trip happen and delivered a once in a lifetime experience!!VerifiedJennifer H2022-10-18Highly recommend using Shiri Adventures. We went on a three-day safari with Shiri as well as a day trip to Materuni Falls and Coffee Plantation and Chemka Hot Springs. I can't say enough good things about how helpful Linus and his staff were before, during, and after our trip. Everyone was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and made sure we were enjoying our trip. Our accommodations and food exceeded expectations. If you're planning a trip to Tanzania, I would highly recommend booking your adventures with Shiri.VerifiedJan Smole2022-09-25Best Safari! Me and my wife spend our honeymoon on safari (Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Manyara) with Shiri Adventures and I can say that it was the best experience! We didn't have a single complaint. From communication with mr. Linus, who responded quickly to all our questions and concerns (via WhatsApp or email), to the entire organization of Safari, transfers to airport, luxury lodges in national parks… Also, on our safari jeep they put our wedding photo - nice personal touch :)Our guide (mr. Ibra) was an exceptional at finding animals that we could see from a distance of only a few meters! He taught us about animals, their behavior and the habitats they live in, about the natives Maasai (which we also visited), about land Africa and Tanzania... Really experienced guide! We would recommend Shiri Adventures 10/10. These guys are on another level! :)Tripadvisor rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 54 reviews
